Handmade Cufflinks
Cufflinks made by hand in our own workshop at 210 Upper Street, Islington. Most jewelers have pieces made overseas; we make ours here. We make cufflinks to your design, from a family crest to a company logo, engrave them in the workshop, and make five pairs of our own in silver and gold: the small detail at the wrist that finishes a shirt. Start with what you need, or with a question.

Bespoke cufflinks
Bespoke cufflinks, made in London
Most of the cufflinks we make are not in the shop. We have made them from family crests and company logos, as a classic Bentley set with rubies and diamonds, as vinyl records, in enamelled racing colors, and with a different figure on each cuff. What would yours be? Send us a sketch, a photograph or an idea, and we will draw the design, agree it with you and make it in our workshop. Our archive of past bespoke cufflinks shows 31 pairs we have made; they are past commissions, shown to give you ideas, not stock. For cufflinks as a company gift, see our corporate commissions.

Engraved cufflinks
We engrave cufflinks in our own workshop, on the face or on the foot: the small disc at the back that sits hidden inside the cuff. The face suits initials or a crest, there for everyone to see. The foot suits a date or a short private line: a secret at the wrist that only the wearer knows is there. Engraving is priced on our engraving page, and you can add it when you order.

Silver cufflinks, made in our workshop
Five pairs of our own design, from our plainest pair to skulls with stone eyes, each made in sterling silver and, to order, in 9ct gold, with stones as an option on most. The Liquid, Skull and Inlaid Signet pairs are push-throughs. Every one is hallmarked.

Soho Cufflinks
A flat face with room for initials or a crest, and a small stone in one corner if you want one. Soho is the pair from our current range we sold most, in the shop and online, from January 2025 to September 2026, in silver and in gold. Smart at a desk, sharp at a wedding.

Wedding cufflinks for the groom, best man and father of the bride
Cufflinks are a traditional gift for the men in a wedding party, and a natural piece to engrave with the date. A pair for the groom and the fathers, and a tie or lapel pin for each groomsman, keeps the party matched at a sensible cost.
The groom
Often a gift from the bride on the morning. Choose a pair he will wear long after the day, with the date engraved on the foot.

Father of the bride
Silver or gold to match his watch. The date and both family names, or a family crest on the face.
Family crests
Best man, groomsmen and ushers
A tie and lapel pin or a tie bar for each, from about $365 engraved with his initials. Cufflinks for the best man.
See the Oval pinSeveral matching pairs
We make identical pairs with different initials on each. Tell us the wedding date when you order, and call us first if it is close.
What to engrave on cufflinks
Face or foot first, then the words. What will they say? Keep it short: a cufflink face is small, and a few characters engrave more cleanly than a sentence.
Initials
On the face. One set across both cufflinks, or one letter on each, such as his initial and the bride's.
The date
On the foot, hidden in the cuff: the wedding date, a birth year, or the year of a promotion or retirement.
A crest or a logo
A family crest or a company mark on the face. Send us the artwork and we will tell you what will engrave well.
Bespoke jewelryA line for him
On the foot, a few words from the person giving them, for him alone. For the groom, a line from the bride is the usual choice.
See engraving stylesWhat are push-through cufflinks?
Cufflinks fasten in one of a few ways. Our Liquid, Skull and Inlaid Signet cufflinks are push-throughs, sometimes called fixed-back: one solid piece, the face joined to a smaller foot by a fixed post, with no hinge or spring. You angle the foot through both holes of the cuff and it stays put.
Push-through
One piece with no moving parts, so there is nothing to wear loose or snap. Our Liquid, Skull and Inlaid Signet pairs.
See the Liquid pairT-bar or bullet back
A bar that swivels flat to go through the cuff, then turns across to lock. The most common type.
Whale back
A flat tab that flips down to lock. Quick to fasten; the hinge is the part that wears.
Chain
Two faces joined by a short chain. The oldest style, with a relaxed, loose drape on the cuff.
How to wear cufflinks
Cufflinks need a cuff with a hole on both sides. Four things to know.
Double cuff
Fold the cuff back on itself, bring the two edges together so the insides touch, and push the cufflink through all four holes.
Face out
The face goes on the outside, where it can be seen. The foot sits on the inside, against the wrist.
With a button cuff
A standard button cuff has no second hole. Some shirts have a convertible cuff that takes either; otherwise wear a double-cuff shirt.
Office, wedding or black tie
Cufflinks are worn with a suit at work, at weddings and with black tie. A plain pair in silver or gold suits all three, desk to dance floor.
How much do cufflinks cost?
Our cufflinks start at about $820 in silver, more than most silver cufflinks sold in the UK. That is the cost of making each pair by hand in London. If your budget is lower, our tie and lapel pins start at about $365 and can be engraved.

Are cufflinks a good gift?
Yes, for someone who wears double-cuff shirts, or for a wedding, where the pair marks the day and is worn long after it. If he never wears double cuffs, a tie pin or a ring may suit him better. See our gifts for him.

Cufflinks made in one solid piece: a face and a smaller foot joined by a fixed post, with no hinge or spring. You angle the foot through the cuff. Our Liquid, Skull and Inlaid Signet cufflinks are push-throughs.
Can you wear cufflinks with a normal shirt?
Only if the cuff has a hole on both sides. A standard button cuff does not; a double cuff or a convertible cuff does.
Which way round do cufflinks go?
The decorative face on the outside of the cuff, the foot on the inside, against the wrist.
Can you engrave cufflinks?
Yes. We engrave in our own workshop, on the face or on the foot. Initials and crests usually go on the face, a date or a private message on the foot, hidden in the cuff. Engraving is priced on our engraving page.
Can you make cufflinks to my design?
Yes. We make bespoke cufflinks from crests, logos, drawings and photographs in our workshop in Islington. Bring us an idea, however rough. See past bespoke cufflinks and how bespoke works.
