Men's Bracelets & Bangles

These are our bracelets for men: gents bracelets and bangles designed and made in our own Islington workshop, in solid sterling silver, leather and cord, beads and pearls. Most can be engraved, and many can be made to order in gold. Each kind is sized differently, so start with how you want it to wear.

Leather and cord

Men's leather bracelets

The easiest first bracelet. Most of our leather and cord designs adjust, so there is no size to guess: woven leather with solid silver ends, the leather wristband men wear every day, next to a watch or on its own.

Fit: the adjustable designs slide from about 16 to 32cm (12½ in). The fixed ones are 20 to 22cm (8¾ in) long; ask us about other lengths.

Bangles

Men's bangles

Solid silver bangles, open at the back. You slide one on sideways through the gap, so the size that matters is the width across the inside, not the length around your wrist.

Fit: inside measurements are Small 58 x 48mm, Medium 62 x 52mm, Large 64 x 54mm, Extra Large 68 x 58mm. The full table is in the size guide below.

ID Engravable Bracelet in sterling silver

Engraving

Men's engraved bracelets

Most of our men's bracelets can be engraved by hand in our workshop. Where depends on the kind: on the leather bracelets, the silver ends; on a bangle, inside or outside; on the ID Engravable Bracelet, the plate.

Choose Add Engraving on the product page, pick a lettering style and type your words; the price shows there. Handwriting, symbols and logos are quoted separately. Engraving can add time, and engraved pieces cannot be returned, so check the size first.

Size guide

What size bracelet for a man

Each kind of bracelet is sized differently. When a size is wrong it is usually too small, so if you are in doubt, go up.

How to measure your wrist

How to measure your wrist

Wrap a strip of paper or a soft tape measure round your wrist just below the wrist bone, where a bracelet sits. Mark where it meets, lay it flat against a ruler and read it in centimetres. That is your wrist size; every size below starts from it.

Chain, link and bead sizes

Chain, link and bead sizes

As a rough guide, add about 2cm to your wrist and choose the nearest length below.
Small, 18cm (7 in)
Medium, 20cm (7¾ in)
Large, 22cm (8¾ in)
Extra Large, 24cm (9½ in)
Not every design comes in every length; the lengths offered are on each product page. If you are unsure, call us before you order.

Bangle sizes

Bangle sizes

Our men's bangles are open at the back and go on sideways. The size is the inside, measured across (width x depth):
Small: 58 x 48mm
Medium: 62 x 52mm
Large: 64 x 54mm
Extra Large: 68 x 58mm
Extra Extra Large: 73 x 63mm
The easiest way to choose is to measure across the inside of a bangle or cuff you already wear. If you are unsure, call us before you order.

Leather adjusts

Leather adjusts

The Adjustable Woven Leather and Carved Skull bracelets slide from about 16 to 32cm (12½ in), and the Curved Air cord adjusts up to about 25cm (9¾ in), so there is no size to guess. The fixed leather designs are made at a set length (the Leather Snap Twist is 21cm (8¼ in)); ask us about other lengths.

Provenance

Made in our Islington workshop

Stephen Einhorn is one of the few jewelers still designing and making everything in its own workshop, on Upper Street in Islington.

“I simply could not find men's designer bracelets like these on the market. The only solution was to make them myself, which I did. I hope you enjoy wearing them as much as I do.” Stephen Einhorn

Our bracelets have been lent for Robbie Williams at the Ivor Novello Awards and for shoots in AnOther Man and Dazed. For a bracelet we do not show, ask us about a commission.

Men's bracelet questions

What size bracelet does a man need?

Measure your wrist just below the wrist bone and add about 2cm. For our chain, link and bead bracelets that means Small (18cm (7 in)) for wrists up to 16cm (6¼ in), Medium (20cm (7¾ in)) for 16 to 18cm (7 in), Large (22cm (8¾ in)) for 18 to 20cm (7¾ in) and Extra Large (24cm (9½ in)) for 20 to 22cm (8¾ in). Bangles are sized by the width across the inside, from Small (58 x 48mm) to Extra Extra Large (73 x 63mm). If you are between sizes, go up. The full guide is in the size section above.

How should a men's bracelet fit?

A chain or bead bracelet should move freely, with room for a finger underneath, without sliding over your hand. A bangle should sit just above the wrist bone and turn without pinching. Leather should sit close enough not to catch on a shirt cuff. Men more often buy too small than too large.

What is the best type of bracelet for men?

The one you will wear every day. What men buy from us splits four ways: leather and cord (about a third), then bangles, silver chains and beads. If you have never worn a bracelet, start with the Adjustable Woven Leather Bracelet: it adjusts to fit and is our most-bought men's bracelet. If you want weight, choose a solid silver chain such as the Heavy Link.

What is the difference between a bangle and a bracelet?

A bangle is rigid; a bracelet is flexible, whether chain, leather, cord or beads. Our men's bangles are open at the back, so they go on sideways through the gap rather than over the hand, and they are sized by the width across the inside. Bracelets are sized by length.

Which wrist should a man wear a bracelet on?

Either; there is no rule. Many men choose the wrist they do not write with, where a bracelet catches on less. If you wear a watch, wear the bracelet on the other wrist or next to the watch.

Can you wear a bracelet with a watch?

Yes. Leather and cord sit most comfortably next to a watch on the same wrist. A silver chain or bangle and a metal watch will scratch each other, so give the silver the other wrist or wear it a little way up from the watch.

Does sterling silver tarnish, and can I shower in it?

Sterling silver darkens over time because of sulphur in the air, and faster when it is not worn. A silver cloth brings it back, or bring it to us for a clean and polish. Water does not harm solid silver, but soap, chlorine and salt water dull it, so take bracelets off to swim, and take leather and cord off to shower, as water dries and weakens leather.

Can a men's bracelet be engraved?

Most can, by hand in our workshop: the silver ends of the leather bracelets, inside or outside a bangle, and the plate of the ID bracelet. Choose Add Engraving on the product page to see the price. Engraved pieces cannot be returned, so check the size first.
